-HISTORY OF HIKO RYU TAIJUTSU

Hiko Ryu Taijutsu was founded by Grand Master Fujito Koga in 1952 and is rooted in Grand Master Sokaku Takeda's Daito Ryu Jujitsu. The beauty of being rooted in this particular style is that from it evolved three very distinct styles of Grand Master Morihei Ueshiba's Aikido, Grand Master Hoken Inoue's Shinwa Taido and Fuji Ryu Taijutsu. Grand Master Inoue and Grand Master Koga were training partners and traveled throughout Japan honing and teaching their advanced techniques to the different law enforcement agencies and during this time Fuji Ryu Taijutsu was born.

In 1991 Grand Master Koga passed the position of Grand Master on to Master Koshiro Tanaka, who then went on to develop over 1000 techniques that are the curriculum for the school today. Grand Master Tanaka has traveled throughout the world teaching and training elite military and police forces in countries such as Myanmar, Thailand(the Narcotics Serpression Bureau Royal Thai Police), Vietnam, Philippines(the Philippin National Police SWAT), Kuwait(Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Academy), Tibet(The Dalai Lama's security), The United States and Europe.
